We’re pleased to be working exclusively in partnership with Eastleigh Borough Council to recruit a Senior Building Surveyor to join their property team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional seeking a varied workload, and the opportunity to work on impactful projects across a diverse property portfolio.
Role & Responsibilities of the Senior Building Surveyor:
- Undertake condition surveys and provide expert advice on building defects.
- Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and tender documents.
- Oversee the delivery of capital projects, planned maintenance, and refurbishment works.
- Pre-acquisition surveys
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including CDM regulations, asbestos management, and health & safety requirements.
- Work closely with internal teams to maximise the value of the property portfolio.
Skills and experience of the Senior Building Surveyor:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Chartered status (MRICS/MCIOB) or working towards it.
- A strong background in property and building surveying, including contract administration and defect diagnosis.
- Experience in delivering maintenance programmes and construction projects.
- Public sector experience is beneficial but not essential
