We’re working in partnership with a well-established property consultancy to recruit a Building Surveyor or Senior Building Surveyor to support a diverse workload including S20 works, reinstatement cost assessments, defect reporting, and related building surveying tasks.
Role & Responsibilities of the Senior Building Surveyor:
- Carry out S20 works inspections, assessments, and manage the consultation / reporting processes.
- Prepare reinstatement cost assessments (RCAs) for residential and commercial properties.
- Produce detailed defect reports and condition surveys, identifying repairs and remedial works.
- Liaise with clients, managing agents, landlords, leaseholders, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Prepare specifications, estimates, and where required, contract documentation for remedial or maintenance works.
- Provide professional advice on building defects, maintenance needs, reinstatement values, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Skills & Experience of the Senior Building Surveyor:
- Degree in Building Surveying or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience or demonstrable knowledge in S20 procedures, reinstatement cost assessments, defect analysis or building pathology.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organised and able to manage multiple surveys / inspections.
- Confident in liaising with leaseholders, landlords, property managers, contractors and other stakeholders.
