An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a well-established, independent building surveying practice based in the New Forest. This role offers a genuinely varied workload across both commercial and residential property, with a strong focus on quality, technical excellence and long-term client relationships.
The position would suit an experienced MRICS or AssocRICS Building Surveyor looking for autonomy, variety and the opportunity to work on a mix of historic, conservation and modern buildings across the New Forest, Southampton, Salisbury, Bournemouth and further afield across the UK.
Role & Responsibilities of the Senior Building Surveyor:
- Undertaking building surveys, condition surveys, measured surveys and defect diagnosis
- Preparing detailed survey reports, specifications of work and cost estimates
- Managing projects from inception through to completion
- Contract administration and procurement under JCT / NEC contracts
- Advising clients on technical, regulatory and compliance matters
- Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and local authorities
- Supporting business development and repeat client work
- Mentoring junior and support staff as part of a small, collaborative team
Skills & Experience of the Senior Building Surveyor:
- MRICS qualified ideally, AssocRICS will also be considered
- Strong technical knowledge of building pathology and construction
- Experience across both residential and commercial property
- Confident working independently while contributing to a close-knit team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Salary & Benefits:
- £48,000 – £60,000 base salary (flexible depending on experience)
