Assistant Building Surveyor

We are pleased to be working with a respected property consultancy in Southampton who are seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or assistant-level professional to build a career within a supportive environment, with exposure to a wide variety of instructions.

Role & Responsibilities of the Assistant Building Surveyor:

  • Assisting senior surveyors with professional and project work across the commercial, residential, and mixed-use sectors
  • Undertaking building surveys, schedules of condition, and defect analysis
  • Preparing specifications and assisting with contract administration
  • Supporting the delivery of dilapidations, party wall, and reinstatement cost assessments
  • Preparing reports and ensuring compliance with best practice and professional standards
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure successful project delivery

Skills & Experience of the Assistant Building Surveyor:

  • Degree in Building Surveying or a related property discipline
  • Ideally some previous placement or graduate experience in building surveying (not essential)
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to progress towards APC and RICS qualification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Full UK driving licence
