Project Manager

Excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join the University of Southampton, currently one of the world’s top 100 universities. Working as part of their property team you will be responsible for managing planned maintenance and refurbishment projects across their estate. You will manage the development, planning and implementation of construction projects and will be involved in the delivery of these at any stage in their lifecycle from inception through to close-out.

Role & Responsibilities of the Project Manager:
  • Project management of refurbishment and maintenance schemes
  • Writing project briefs, consultant specifications
  • Appointment of external consultants and contractors
  • Supervision of external consultants
  • Cost control and financial management of projects
  • Typical value of projects is between £60k-300k
Skills & Experience of the Project Manager:
  • Ideally professionally qualified with either MRICS or MCIOB
  • Significant experience of managing construction and refurbishment projects in live environments
  • Building surveying background is preferred
  • Experienced briefing, appointing and managing external consultants and contractors
Salary & Benefits:
  • £40K to £47K
  • 35 hour a week contract
  • 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holiday
