Excellent opportunity for a Graduate or Assistant level Quantity Surveyor to join a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy based in Bournemouth. The role is to assist a Managing Surveyor and the team more generally to deliver a broad range of services to their clients. You will be customer facing and will regularly be interacting with their clients, consultants and contractors delivering a variety of projects from small residential refurbishments to large multi-million pound commercial ventures.
The successful applicant will be provided with various training and experience and will be encouraged to commence the RICS APC.
Role & Responsibilities of the Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
The role will involve all stages of construction projects from initial inception through to final account and life cycle management. Typically the role will involve:
- Undertaking feasibility studies
- Performing risk and value management assessments
- Procurement
- Cost planning
- Change management and valuation
- Final account negotiation
- Report writing
- Bank monitoring surveying
- Reinstatement valuations
- Contract Administration
Skills & experience of the Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
This role is open to graduates and junior/assistant quantity surveyors with the following attributes:
- Degree educated (not necessarily in quantity surveying)
- Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Personable nature
- A desire to learn and the ability to learn quickly
- A reasonable understanding of construction methodologies and techniques
- The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- A full clean driving licence and own vehicle
Salary & Benefits:
- £25k – 35k depending on experience
- 25 days leave
- 1pm finish Friday’s
