We’re pleased to be working in partnership with MDL Marinas to recruit an experienced facilities or building management professional to play a key role in managing and maintaining MDL Marinas’ extensive South Coast estate.
MDL Marinas owns and operates 18 marinas from Ipswich to Plymouth, with a diverse portfolio of over 450 buildings and more than 350 tenants, including industrial units, workshops, offices and food & beverage outlets. Based at the Head Office in Ocean Village, you’ll work closely with the Estates, Operations teams, Marina Managers and tenants to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the estate.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing planned and reactive maintenance, managing contractors, and ensuring full statutory compliance across the portfolio, while helping to drive consistency, efficiency and high standards throughout the estate.
Role & Responsibilities of the Facilities Manager:
- Managing planned and reactive maintenance programmes with a focus on building fabric
- Instructing and overseeing contractors for minor works and repairs
- Ensuring full statutory compliance including asbestos, electrical testing, fire safety, legionella, lifts and boilers
- Managing risk assessments, safety audits and compliance records
- Procuring, tendering and managing contractors and suppliers
- Acting as a key point of contact for tenants on facilities-related matters
- Supporting the rollout and ongoing use of the Infraspeak FM system
Skills & experience of the Facilities Manager:
- Proven experience in facilities or building management, ideally within a commercial or industrial estate
- Confident managing contractors and multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Organised, methodical and commercially aware
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- Flexible and willing to travel regularly across the South Coast estate
