We’re pleased to be working in partnership with a Local Authority in South Hampshire to recruit an Interim Estates Surveyor to support their Community Asset Transfer Programme. This is an immediate-start contract role, running until the end of September, ideal for an experienced estates or asset management professional available at short notice.
The role will focus on progressing a portfolio of community asset transfers, working closely with internal stakeholders, legal teams and external parties to help deliver agreed outcomes within tight timeframes.
Role & Responsibilities of the Interim Estates Surveyor:
- Supporting the delivery of the Community Asset Transfer programme
- Managing property matters relating to community and operational assets
- Liaising with legal teams on disposals, leases and agreements
- Advising on estates strategy, valuation and best consideration
- Working with community groups and stakeholders to progress transfers
- Managing instructions and reporting to senior officers
- Ensuring compliance with local authority governance and procedures
Skills & Experience of the Interim Estates Surveyor:
- Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) is beneficial but not essential
- Strong background in estates management or asset management
- Public sector or local authority experience highly desirable
- Knowledge of community asset transfer processes advantageous
- Confident managing multiple stakeholders and priorities
- Able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment
Contract & Package:
- £Competitive day rate (negotiable depending on experience)
- Interim contract until end of September
- Immediate start available
- Hybrid working – 1 day in the office per week
- 4 or 5 days a week available
