A well-regarded independent building consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and lead on cost consultancy across a variety of projects, including refurbishment, and new build. This is a fantastic role for a seasoned Quantity Surveyor who is looking for responsibility, variety, and long-term growth, outside of a large, corporate environment.
Role & Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Working on varied schemes up to £10-15m in value
- Lead cost management services from feasibility through to final account
- Prepare estimates, cost plans, tender documentation, and procurement advice
- Manage and negotiate with contractors and consultants to ensure value for money
- Provide commercial oversight and value engineering to maximise project profitability
- Administer contracts, valuations, and cost reporting throughout the project life cycle
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Skills & Experience of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Significant experience in quantity surveying within a consultancy environment
- Experience in contract administration and cost control
- Proven ability to deliver cost planning, tendering, and final accounts
- Excellent client relationship skills and commercial acumen
- Strong technical understanding of construction methods and costs
- Relevant professional qualification (MRICS or equivalent) desirable
