An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established multidisciplinary construction consultancy in Bristol, working across a diverse range of sectors and projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a collaborative and supportive environment, with exposure to a wide variety of projects and a clear pathway towards Associate level. You’ll work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, taking responsibility for the financial and contractual management of projects from inception through to completion.
Role and Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:
- Managing the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets and procurement plans
- Advising clients on procurement strategies and forms of contract
- Preparing contract documents, performance bonds and collateral warranties
- Administering contracts and managing variations, claims and disputes
- Monitoring project costs, cash flow and financial performance
- Preparing accurate financial reports and cost information
- Managing contractual risks and ensuring compliance with relevant obligations
- Working closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
- Opportunities to gain Contract Administration and Employer’s Agent experience
Skills & Experience of the Quantity Surveyor:
- Significant Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry
- MRICS qualified or working towards chartership preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and cost management
- Experience with JCT and NEC contracts
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong client-facing and communication abilities
- Commercially aware with good attention to detail
- Experience using Excel and cost management software
- Full UK driving licence
