An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Surveyor to join a highly respected multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy, working across a diverse range of sectors including Defence, Blue Light, Education, Housing, Healthcare, Commercial and Public Sector projects.

Based in Southampton, you’ll work alongside an experienced Building Surveying team delivering projects ranging from £10,000 to £3 million. This is a varied role offering exposure to professional surveying, project management, contract administration and technical consultancy, with excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

Role and Responsibilities of the Building Surveyor:

  • Delivering a broad range of Building Surveying services across regional projects
  • Carrying out building surveys, inspections and condition assessments
  • Preparing specifications, schedules, feasibility studies and technical reports
  • Managing regional projects and schemes from inception through to completion
  • Administering JCT and NEC contracts
  • Providing professional advice on technical, legal and compliance matters
  • Supporting senior managers with project and client management
  • Managing client relationships and contributing to business development
  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the Building Surveying team
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with quality, health & safety and environmental requirements

Skills & Experience of the Building Surveyor:

  • BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or a similar RICS-accredited degree
  • Strong technical Building Surveying knowledge and relevant experience
  • Experience delivering Building Surveying and project management services
  • Good knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Experience preparing technical documents, specifications and reports
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and statutory compliance
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills
  • Commercially aware with an understanding of profitability and business development
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • MRICS qualified or working towards chartership would be advantageous

Salary & Benefits:
