Senior Building Surveyor

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to join an international construction consultancy based in their Surrey office. Working as part of an experienced team you will be responsible for managing a range of projects varying in value from £50K to £2M.  

Roles and Responsibilities of the Senior Building Surveyor:

  • Preparing drawings using AutoCAD, doing elevations and floorplans
  • Writing and preparing specification and project briefs
  • Managing contract tendering and contract administration
  • Supervising of development and design of the project
  • Providing day to day assistance to the project team
  • Handling all instructions and to maintain comprehensive records for all work undertaken
  • Identifying building defects
  • Writing technical reports
  • Preparing budgets and contracts
  • Complying with the companies health and safety standards

Skills and Experience of the Senior Building Surveyor:

  • 3-5 years of building surveying experience in a consultancy or client environment
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD
  • Expertise in managing projects independently with minimal supervision
  • Good communication and organisation skills
  • Experience managing public/private sector projects
  • Experience in construction or consultancy industry
  • Technical knowledge and competency in building surveying
  • Good negotiation, presentation and report writing skills 
  • Strong IT skills
