A leading construction and engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Quantity Surveyor to join their London Cost Management team. The team operates in a variety of different sectors giving you varied experience and challenges. The areas the London team focusses on is in the private and public Residential, Infrastructure, Flood Alleviation, Defence and Security projects, including delivering projects in the UK and overseas for Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The London Team are also providing Cost Management Framework services to the Environment Agency (EA) and Parliamentary Estates for secured long term strategic management of major reactive and planned Capital Works programmes.
Role & Responsibilities of the Principal Quantity Surveyor:
- Pre and post contract cost management, including setting budgets, managing change, assessing risk and opportunity and procurement.
- Acting as Employer’s Agent and project monitoring
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams across various offices.
- Engage with clients and maintain strong relationships.
- Deliver projects to a high-quality standard.
Skills & Experience of the Principal Quantity Surveyor:
- MRICS or working towards chartership
- Degree in quantity surveying
- Experience of working with NEC, JCT and bespoke forms of D&B Contracts.
- Infrastructure and residential sector experience is preferable, but not essential as we are looking for experience across all sectors
