Working for a local authority the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and ideally have public sector, housing or insurance experience. You will be working as part of an experienced team and responsible for designing, specifying and project managing repair, maintenance and improvement works to Council property. This includes all aspects of building contract administration for minor to major works, repairs advice and day-to-day monitoring and progress reporting of projects in progress including assessment of the condition of buildings and associated remedial work.
Role & Responsibilities of the or Building Surveyor:
- Contract administration
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys
- Building surveys
- Reinstatement Cost Assessments
- Party Wall surveys
- General defect advice
- Project management
Skills & Experience of the Building Surveyor:
- Degree or appropriate technical qualification at higher level (BTEC HNC/HND in construction)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Management experience
- Strong IT skills
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise own workload
- Ability to work on own initiative
